Spanish for Your Real Life

Online Spanish lessons for adults moving to Spain, working with Spanish-speaking partners, or travelling Spain and Latin America.

Learn Spanish online, from anywhere

Real-life Spanish, not textbook Spanish. Whether you're moving to Spain, working with Spanish-speaking clients, or planning your next trip through Latin America, every lesson is built around what you actually need to do in Spanish. Sessions run online with Victoria, a certified ELE teacher and DELE examiner. In 2025, 15% of our 744 sessions were online with students from more than 19 countries. Find your reason to learn Spanish

Moving to or holidaying in Spain

You're moving to Spain — or your second home in Andalucía is finally ready. The dream is clear; the practical reality is fuzzier. Doctors, school enrolment, the bank, asking the neighbour to turn down the music — all of it happens in Spanish, and Google Translate runs out fast.

You'll be able to

  • Make a doctor's appointment, explain symptoms, understand the diagnosis
  • Open a bank account and talk to your gestor
  • Order at restaurants like a regular, not a tourist
  • Have a real conversation with neighbours that goes past hola
  • Read school letters and reply to teachers

We'll work on

  • Daily-life vocabulary (health, housing, errands, paperwork)
  • Listening practice with regional accents (Andalusian, Catalan, Madrileño)
  • Cultural codes — vs usted, formal email conventions
  • Pronunciation locals respect

Working with Spanish-speaking companies

Your clients, partners, or colleagues are in Madrid, Buenos Aires, or Mexico City — and the rapport-building lunch matters as much as the contract. English keeps things moving, but Spanish builds trust. You want to send the right email, hold your end of the meeting, and ask the right follow-up question.

You'll be able to

  • Open a meeting in Spanish — and follow what's said when it stops being slow and clear
  • Send professional emails that don't sound translated
  • Make small talk that actually builds rapport (and isn't about the weather)
  • Read contracts, slide decks, and reports without losing nuance
  • Present your work confidently in Spanish, even if Q&A is mixed

We'll work on

  • Business vocabulary by industry — your field, not generic textbook
  • Email and meeting register — formal and informal Spanish that doesn't sound stiff
  • Cultural codes that vary by country (Spain ≠ Mexico ≠ Argentina)
  • Active listening in fast-paced conversation

Travelling Spain & Latin America

You're not after airport-survival Spanish — you want to order raciones at a Madrid taberna without pointing at the menu, shop a Mexico City market like a local, follow an Inca Trail guide near Cusco without losing the thread, and end up in conversations that turn into friendships. Spanish opens half the world; you'd like a key that fits more locks than una cerveza, por favor.

You'll be able to

  • Hold a real conversation past de dónde eres with locals you meet
  • Read menus, signs, and the small print on bus tickets
  • Recognise regional accents — Iberian, Mexican, Argentinian, Cuban, Colombian
  • Navigate transport, lodging, and recommendations like you've been before
  • Switch register from beach bar to museum guide without thinking

We'll work on

  • Travel vocabulary that's actually useful (not the library is to the left)
  • Accent differences and country-specific slang (vos, che, vale, órale)
  • Cultural pragmatics — when to be formal, when to break the ice
  • Listening to fast speech without panicking
Plan a free intake — tell me where you're going next, I'll tune lessons to that region →

Why choose a real teacher over an app?

Apps like Duolingo are great for building habits, but they can't replace the personalised feedback and real conversation that a qualified teacher provides. With online lessons at Spanish Planet School:

  • You speak from day one — every lesson includes real conversation practice, not just exercises.
  • Your mistakes get corrected immediately — so you don't build bad habits.
  • Lessons adapt to you — your teacher adjusts the pace, topics, and difficulty based on how you learn.
  • You stay accountable — a scheduled lesson with a real person keeps you consistent.
